This is the beginning of something we don't really know yet. It starts with a place to provide information for our film(s), and we're just going to take it from there. This site will be expanding as necessary. And right now, it's not really that necessary for it to be anything more than this. We're sort of in the "not enough money, busy with everything, aching to change something, something, anything" stage of things. But in spite of the lack of organization, this is most definitely a venture, an undertaking in which the underlying goal is Creation. Not the pretentious kind that usually comes with capitalizing words that wouldn't ordinarily otherwise deserve such treatment, but the kind where people care about things in themselves, not as a means to fame or fortune or money. Not that those things aren't possible. But they aren't THE reason. Right now, we're trying to collect a tribe of super friends, some technology, and experience. You might even say we've already started. Any medium is possible and no topic is off limits.
Film productions:
Idle Rebellion (the film not the web site)
"Veil" (2002)
Just what the heck is going on?
Apologizes for going months without a site update. Last time we last checked in, "Veil" was about to have its first public screening, and we were setting up a premiere for the film at LCC, the local community college. Well, the latter plan sort of fell through. There's more detail about that on the "Veil" page along with location shots (the link had been broken for a long time).
Contrary to what might be presumed from the lack of site updates, Dustin and I have haven't parted ways or had a falling out. This summer I moved out of my little studio/cottage apartment where I had lived for nearly two years. And then Dustin moved in... a nice segue indeed. So I'm still spending a lot of time there (probably much to the confusion of the next door neighbors), including a 10 day house sitting stint when Dustin went galavanting across states (physically a nd mentally no doubt). Dustin has dubbed his new house "Studio 729." I moved a block and a half down the street to The Lorax, a co-op, where I've the last spent two months. Lately we've been hanging out again, reading Jack Kerouac, listening to Spearhead, starting to scheme new schemes and dream new dreams. Lately, this has embodied itself in the form of primitive recording experiments - we're writing songs! I've sort of dubbed the genre we're working in as "folk-hop." Hopefully this explains itself (maybe I'll explain more later). The first song that's come to fruition from these collaborations has been called "Be Down Simple." It's not nearly finished (we're soon going to invest in some better equipment and need some kind of percussion track), but I'd like to soon post some lyrics and a demo via MP3.
Anyway, that's what's up. As usual, all is in flux.
